Frequently Asked Questions
What are your hours?
We are open Monday through Friday 6.30am - 6.00pm 12 months a year.
What ages do you accept?
We accept children 2 years old to 11 years.
Do you provide an educational curriculum?
Yes, we have set up an environment with learning centers to experiment and explore within. We have a letter or theme of the week that we teach. A program is given to each family to help with the participation of each child's learning.
Do you close for holidays?
We are closed for Memorial Day, Independance Day, Thanksgiving Day, the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and a few days over the holiday period, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. A holiday schedule is given out every September.
Do you provide meals or snacks?
We provide a morning and afternoon snack as well as a nutritious hot lunch Monday through Thursday. We ask that parents provide a sack lunch every Friday. If a child has any dietary restrictions we ask that the parents provide him or her with a sack lunch.
Are nap times provided?
All children ages 2 through 5 have a scheduled nap time.
Do you offer a tuition reduction for closings, illness or family vacation?
Peppermint Stick does not offer a tuition reduction for closings, holidays, or inclement weather. In the event of an extended illness of a child, a meeting with the director can be scheduled to discuss a possible reduction.
Are your teachers CPR and First Aid certified?
Our teachers are CPR and First Aid certified and we re-certify every 2 years.
Are background checks carried out on all staff members?
What if someone other than my spouse/partner or me has to pick up my child?
We provide parents/caregivers with paperwork to list persons who are able to pick up your child. Upon pick-up, we will request to see that person's photo ID and compare it to the list. If there is a person you want to pick up your child but do not wish to have them on the list, you must give the director a written notice with that person's first and last name.
What is your incement weather policy?
Peppermint stick follows the APS schedule. WE make every effort to remain open for working parents but there may be times when we find it necessary for the safety of our families and staff to close.
