Safe And Creative
Classrooms
Prepairing Your Child For the Future
Children need a space that’s both safe and engaging—and that’s exactly what we’ve created at Peppermint Stick Preschool. Our classrooms and outdoor areas are designed to spark curiosity while meeting the highest safety standards. We’re fully licensed and regularly inspected, with strict attention to child-proofing, sanitation, and emergency readiness.
Classrooms:
Each classroom features organized learning centers—art, building, dramatic play, reading, and more—encouraging independence and creativity. Materials are labeled with pictures, and we rotate toys regularly to keep things fresh. Small class sizes prevent overcrowding, and we provide tools like sensory bins, art supplies, and musical instruments. Messes from creative play are expected and welcome—we’re always ready with smocks and cleanup supplies.
Outdoor Areas:
Our large, secure yard includes age-appropriate play structures, a sandbox, trike paths, and a class garden. Kids develop motor skills, explore nature, and enjoy active play in a safe, supervised setting with soft ground surfaces and gated access.
Security & Cleanliness:
Only authorized caregivers can enter, and doors remain locked during the day. We conduct regular drills, maintain first aid readiness, and follow strict hygiene practices—including daily sanitizing and teaching kids proper handwashing.
Parents can rest easy knowing their child is safe, supported, and free to learn through joyful exploration.
Stay connected with ease using the Brightwheel app. At Peppermint Stick Preschool, Brightwheel gives you real-time updates, photos, messages, and daily reports—all in one secure place. With built-in safety features and private communication, you’ll have peace of mind knowing your child is safe and just a tap away.
Key Benefits

Physical Safety and Security
Our preschool offers a secure, trusted environment. Doors stay locked, strangers can’t enter, and every child is accounted for with our Brightwheel check-in system. Classrooms are fully childproofed—outlets covered, sharp edges removed, and hazards locked away—so kids can explore safely. Outside, our fenced yard and safe playground design add another layer of protection. We follow strict safety standards to give you the peace of mind your child is safe—often safer than at home.

Clean, Healthy Environment

Outdoor Exploration and Physical Development
Our outdoor space supports both play and development. Climbing, running, and exploring build strength, coordination, and confidence. Kids safely test limits, spark creativity through pretend play, and connect with nature in our garden. Daily outdoor time (weather permitting) boosts mood, focus, and overall well-being—plus, it makes school fun and something they look forward to.
What Makes Us Different
We’re always asking, “How can our space better inspire the kids?” When something isn’t working—like an unused corner—we adapt. With the kids’ input, we recently turned a quiet book area into a cozy “story tent” with a canopy, pillows, and flashlights. Now it’s a favorite hangout. By staying responsive to their interests, we keep the environment fresh and engaging.
We go beyond basic safety standards. New students mean extra fire drills, not just the required monthly ones. We bring in local experts—like firefighters—to teach safety in kid-friendly ways. Our team stays alert and well-positioned to supervise at all times. Thanks to our small size and strong communication, any concerns are addressed right away. Families often tell us our school feels safe, warm, and personal—more like a second home than a big, impersonal daycare.
We display children’s artwork at their level so they feel proud and involved. During themed units, the whole room transforms—like our “under the sea” week with blue streamers, paper fish, and a giant kid-made aquarium mural. These immersive, imaginative spaces make learning stick. Being a small, independent school gives us the freedom to be creative in ways bigger programs often can’t.
Natural light, plants, wood, and soft textures help us create a calm, nature-connected space—even indoors. Child-height windows let kids observe the outdoors, and we often bring nature inside with things like fall leaves or a small class pet. These elements support focus and well-being while giving the room a gentle, homey feel. Parents often tell us it’s a peaceful alternative to overstimulating play spaces.
Kids take on class jobs—like line leader or plant waterer—and learn rules in a positive, age-appropriate way. They help label bins, so cleanup becomes second nature. They see the classroom as theirs, not just a place they’re in. This sense of ownership teaches responsibility and respect that sticks with them well beyond preschool.
