The Heart of Our Preschool—Our Teachers
At Peppermint Stick, the strength of our program starts with our people. Our educators aren’t just qualified—they’re caring, dedicated, and passionate about early childhood. They guide, support, and cheer on each child’s growth during these vital early years.
All lead teachers have formal education in early childhood and are licensed or on the path to licensure in New Mexico. All the teachers have or are working towards their Early Childhood Education degree. Just as importantly, they bring patience, warmth, and a love for teaching. You’ll find them at the child’s level—offering comfort, encouragement, and celebrating small wins.
Low staff-to-child ratios allow us to give focused attention. Teachers tailor learning to each child, and our assistants—often training to become lead teachers—work closely with the team to ensure every child’s needs are met. Ongoing training keeps our skills sharp and our classrooms thriving.
We also prioritize strong partnerships with parents. You’ll get daily updates through notes or our app, plus regular check-ins to talk about progress. Our teachers are always approachable—we believe in open communication and working together as a team. We’re honored to be part of your child’s journey.
At Peppermint Stick, your child will be surrounded by caring mentors who help them thrive from day one. Ready to take the next step? Enroll now and let’s grow together.
Key Benefits
Learning Through Play, Guided by Experts
Our teachers use their training to turn play into meaningful learning. They understand child development, set age-appropriate expectations, and plan hands-on activities that keep young minds engaged—especially for busy 3-year-olds with short attention spans.
Because they’re trained to spot early signs of challenges, they can adjust strategies or offer support when needed. The result? A high-quality, responsive learning experience designed for how kids learn best.
The Teachers They’ll Never Forget
What parents love most about Peppermint Stick is how deeply our teachers care. You’ll see it in the little moments—hugs at drop-off, a comforting lap during story time, or a gentle hand on a tough day. These warm connections help children feel safe, supported, and excited to learn.
When kids feel loved, they’re more confident, curious, and eager to try new things. And for you, that means a happy child who looks forward to preschool and adores their teacher—because here, they’re not just students, they’re family.
Personalized Attention, Every Step of the Way
With low ratios and a caring team, your child gets the attention they deserve. Whether your little one is shy or full of big ideas, our teachers meet them where they are—drawing them out, guiding their energy, and tailoring activities to their needs.
No one gets overlooked. We adjust challenges to match each child’s pace and keep you updated with personal feedback along the way. It’s individualized care that helps every child grow with confidence.
Consistent Faces, Lasting Relationships
At Peppermint Stick, our teachers stay—and that makes all the difference. While high turnover is common in early childhood, we treat our staff well, and they love being here. Many have been with us for years.
This stability means your child sees the same caring faces every day, building trust and emotional security. Teachers truly get to know each child’s growth and personality over time, and parents build lasting relationships with the team. When teachers stay, it creates a stronger, more connected environment for everyone.

What Makes Us Different
Our teachers go the extra mile to make each child feel special. Whether it’s leading a birthday circle where classmates share kind words or planning a “dino week” for a budding paleontologist, they notice what matters to your child—and respond with intention.
It’s these thoughtful touches that create joyful moments and lasting memories. At Peppermint Stick, your child isn’t just one of many—they’re known, valued, and celebrated.
We meet—and often exceed—the state’s qualifications for PreK teachers. But we don’t stop there. Our team is committed to ongoing learning, regularly attending workshops, staying current on best practices, and pursuing advanced credentials.
Some of our assistants are even earning their degrees with our support. This culture of growth keeps our teaching fresh, inspired, and effective—because when our teachers grow, your child’s learning thrives.
We believe in being accessible, honest, and supportive. Whether you’re navigating potty training or have concerns about speech, our teachers are here to offer real insight and helpful next steps.
You’ll never be left guessing—we keep you informed and involved. And with your permission, we love sharing photos and updates that brighten your day. This open, ongoing communication builds trust and a true sense of community between home and school.
